The company is the result of a joint venture between Micromax Informatics and Phison Electronics. These two tech giants have collaborated to create the first (IC) thought, designed and manufactured in India. “Phison being the global market leader in NAND controller design, the idea was to bring in Phison technology and design thinking from their end to India and then get the solution design and manufacturing done from India’s Micromax facility. Since its inception, this collaboration has significant value to the IC design and manufacturing initiative in India”, mentioned Prasad Balakrishnan, CEO, MIPHI Semiconductors.
